With a wide range of international experience, Christopher Solek brings architecture and interior design together at all scales.
He graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with an honors degree in architecture in 2004 before becoming a registered architect.
His interest in design began while visiting his father's workshop at the renowned Australian furniture maker Parker as a child. Then as his family searched for a new home and visited open houses, he walked the empty rooms to get a sense of the layout. As a result, he began collecting international home design magazines and studying the modern homes pictured inside.
After working in top Sydney design firms, Christopher moved to New York, beginning his time in the USA as lead designer for the high-profile redevelopment of the iconic TWA Hotel. Influenced by the legendary Eero Saarinen and other international modernists, Christopher delivered his modernism style across the hotel interiors, furniture, and fixtures.
Since then, Christopher has worked on additional prestigious projects across the United States, Mexico, Sydney Harbour and Europe. He has also designed ultra-modern homes in the Hudson Valley and Australia.
His newly launched Getaway Abode Collection combines his hospitality and residential design expertise to offer weekend and compact homes, or guest accommodations – for anywhere in the world.
